Women On Water: Chipping Norton Lakes on Georges River

WOW's first trip to Chipping Norton Lakes, 30 mins south of the CBD on the M5. This trip takes in a picturesque series of lakes and creeks linked by the Georges River. The river has been remediated since sand mining in the 1970s. Today it’s really beautiful and attracts over 50 species of birds including egrets, pelicans and sacred ibis. Sandy pull-in points and good picnic facilities are assured, with thriving stands of casuarina, eucalyptus and angophora. Led by Cathy Miller. Easy/med.
